Tall womens clothing

Dressing to suit your figure is key to a chic and stylish look. No matter how gorgeous your dress is, if it doesn't fit well and flatter your body shape you won't be looking your best. If you're tall then certain dresses will work well with your figure whilst others would look better on a shorter frame. Here is a quick guide on which dresses to go for if you're a tall woman.

Tall Fashions & Long Legs

Because of your tall frame you're able to carry off lots of material. Some shorter women can look drowned by a maxi-dress but your tall figure means the fabric will hang elegantly. Likewise, because you're tall you can carry off big bold prints so don't be afraid to go for a bright tropical print. Whilst you won't be drowned by the amount of fabric, you'll want to avoid being too covered up as you're long limbs will accentuate the amount of material on display. Opt for a sleeveless maxi dress or a maxi dresses with a low back or a plunging neckline. Your skin will create a nice break between the long swathes of material.

Bodycon

If you're tall and have a straight up and down body shape, a bodycon dress is fantastic for creating curves. Most bodycon dresses have a hemline that is just above the knee, which is ideal for the taller lady as your lovely long legs can make short skirts look even shorter, so this length looks ladylike and sophisticated. If your bust needs a little bit of help bodycon dresses are also great for enhancing cleavage.

Shift dress

The slash neckline and three-quarter length sleeves of a shift dress are perfect for the taller figure. This is because shift dresses expose a flattering amount of skin and look great if you have long legs. They're also really flattering if you have any lumps and bumps to hide or if you have a smaller bosom. Opt for a shift dress in a plain block colour and accessories with a long necklace or statement brooch. If you like to stand out in the fashion world go for a bright colour to work this season's colour blocking trend.

Shirt dress

A shirt dress is ideal if you're tall as you can create a flattering neckline by undoing the top couple of buttons on the dress, plus you can add extra feminine curves by nipping the dress in with a belt. If you don't like to add to your height by wearing heels then shirt dresses are great as they look fab with gladiator sandals or brogues. To further elongate your shape wear your shirt dress with a long necklace or long silk scarf.

Asymmetric

With your tall frame you need a striking dress that really shows off your angular figure. Asymmetric dresses will do this fantastically as the diagonal neckline will show off your collarbone and shoulders. Make a statement and opt for a deep and sumptuous colour.
